It has been unusually cold here in Southern California. Ok, so it’s 40 degrees farenheight, but that’s freezing to us! So what does this weather call for? Hot chocolate, of course. And my daughter’s favorite includes this super easy homemade whipped cream.
Hot Chocolate with Homemade Whipped Cream
Items you’ll need:
- 1/2 cup of whipping cream or heavy whipping cream
- 1 to 2 tsp of sugar
- 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract
- package of your favorite hot chocolate mix
- 1 cup of milk
- small bowl, mug and handheld blender
First, add the whipping cream, sugar and vanilla into your bowl. I added 1tsp of sugar, but you can add 2 if you like it a bit sweeter.
Then whip using the highest speed on your blender. You can also use a whisk, but it will take a bit longer. Whip until you get stiff peaks.
Next, heat up your milk in your mug, add your hot chocolate mix, then mix. Or prepare your hot chocolate per your hot chocolate package. We used Swiss Miss.
Finally, top your hot chocolate with the whipped cream.
And that’s it. This recipe is super easy but will be a huge hit with anyone looking to warm up and satisfy their sweet tooth during this winter.
Enjoy!
